Let’s Get Ready to Rundle: The castle, the barn and the beautiful SHED.

What all great weddings possess are great people. Fact. And this lot are some of the best (and nuttiest) - it helps I have known many of them for too long and, whilst I don't see them that often, I consider them some of the finest people I know. So yes, here I am shooting another friend’s wedding. And this one is another corker! What do the agents say? Location, location, location? Well boy did Sharon and Ed (ShEd) make some excellent location choices. Lewes Castle is a magnificent place, full of history, full of beauty and undeniably an incredible place to get married. Thankfully Lady Luck was on our side as the ceremony was outside and completely exposed to the elements, but praise be to the weather gremlins, woo hoo, no rain or miz-greyness! It was glorious.

After the ceremony we had a little drinkidoos at the castle - I of course ran around shooting and generally barking orders at people - and then everyone pootled off to Pangdean on a lovely big Brighton bus for more drinks and more receptioning. The garden at Pangdean provided the most stunning backdrop, a truly picture-perfect venue - and the merriment couldn't have been merrier. Drinks flowed, croquet rules were conquered, Buddha impressions emerged, and everyone looked as happy as free booze looks like.

The barn looked so unbelievably pretty with its twinkly lights, flowers, hay, and MASSIVE Children of the Corn style sheers ;-) - I’ve also never seen so many pictures of sheds before. It’s brilliant when combined names give a readymade theme – love it!

Big thanks to the caterers for feeding the rabble an amazing array of fabulous foodie delights, but it has to be said, the Pièce de résistance was the cake! Lovingly created by none other than Sharon's Dad, Ron - he’s a baker by profession (pretty handy when you're getting married) - and he produced the cutest, most perfect cake that I can say with 100% certainty…tasted amazing. Bravo Sir! A fine feat of cake engineering for such an important day!

Whilst shooting I really noticed how very much in love Sharon and Ed are...the little glances, the Cheshire cat grins, the dipped heads, the laughter, Ed's nervous, but oh so cute smile ... It was amazing to witness. Not only that, I don't think I had ever seen Sharon look more beautiful.
Christina Jessel did her hair and make-up and did it perfectly and that dress (by Claire Pettibone), well it was S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G - Ed you’re one lucky man! Likewise Sharon, you’ve bagged a mighty fine one there in Mr. Rundle… and let’s be honest, you can’t beat having a name where you can shout “LET’S GET READY TO RUNDLE” every time you do ANYTHING. Mazing. Beats the bejeezus out of having to shout, ‘I’ll Avvakebab please’ when you go to the kebab shop, I can tell you! ;-)

So chaps, my heartfelt congratulations to you both! What a wonderful day and beautiful couple. It was so relaxed and entertaining and just down right fab, it’s hard to top. Tres perfect! Plus, you asked for your final song to be
Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. Ha. Doubt I’ll see that again in a hurry! Hats off to the band Riot for that one. They were brilliant and had everyone up and shaking off the dinner pounds ‘til the wee hours. A big excitable clap must also go to my very special Tato for selflessly assisting throughout the day. Thank you.

Mr. and Mrs. ShEd… here’s to you and all things shed-like. I wish you all the very best as you go forward together building your shed as husband and wife. May your time together have a shed load of love, laughter and frollicks in… errrr… sheds ‘til you’re like well old, in need of a coat of paint and are a little rusty.

Too many shed puns? Nooooooo… Maybe…

Love and hugs to you both m’dears… I hope you like your pics.
